How does this all work?
WagMore is not your typical pet sitting service. We bring all the equipment to you! We will bring jumps, hoops, tunnels, and more for your dog to play and learn on for agility sessions. For scent work, we will bring all the yummy snacks and boxes to hide them. If you have a fenced in yard, we can practice off leash but if not we can always work on leash to ensure safety for your dog. Each of our sessions are tailored to the individual dog to ensure they are having fun!
Do you offer pet sitting services for cats or other animals?
Sure we do! Our cat sessions are not quite as structured but we love providing enrichment for cats while you are away. We also offer standard visits for shy kitties that prefer not to participate in a session. Feeding, litter box cleaning, fresh water, cuddling-we do it all! We are also proud to offer exceptional care for any small domestic animals as well as farm animals. Our owner has a degree in vet tech and can administer injectable medications if needed,
How long does each session last?
On average we will spend about an hour at each session. This includes time to set up and take down the equipment. While we are there, we also take into account potty and water breaks.
What do I need to provide for the sessions?
Just your dog and a leash (if necessary!). We do ask that if your dog has to be on leash to please have them in a harness instead of a flat collar for safety reasons. We are happy to provide a harness/leash if you do not have one.
We bring all the treats needed for the session. Some items we bring include hot dogs, cheese, and meatballs (AKA “high value treats”). If your pup has food allergies or other food sensitivities please let us know that ahead of time. We do ask for sanitary reasons that you provide your own water bowl.
Why should I sign my dog up for this? What are the benefits?
Engaging your dog in sports and enrichment activities is crucial for their overall well-being. Beyond the obvious physical exercise, these activities provide mental stimulation, preventing boredom and destructive behavior. Agility exercises enhance coordination and strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend. Scent work taps into their natural instincts, boosting cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills. Canine fitness sessions contribute to a healthier lifestyle, reducing the risk of obesity and related health issues. Overall, an active and enriched lifestyle not only keeps your dog physically fit but also promotes a happy, well-balanced, and content companion.
Think about all the things you have to look forward to, even during a typical day. Maybe you have a morning yoga session, followed by a lunch date with a friend from work, along with cooking and having a family dinner, and ending the evening with a good book or your favorite TV show. I’m between all those activities we are typically scrolling on our phones. So much activity in a day! Which we all know is just a very small sample of a typical day for most people.
Now think about what your dog has to do during the day. They get a few meals a day and if they are lucky, a 10 minute walk around the block in the evening. Most dogs, who were bred to be working and sniffing, spend their days lounging on the couch. The way we keep dogs is quite unnatural and far from their ancestral roots. Give your dog something to look forward to during the day. Dog sports provide a physical activity, mental enrichment, and it gives dogs a sense of purpose or a “job”. Trust me, your dog will thank you!
